Chicago’s own Elgin Nathan James, described as in his 30s, was arrested in Los Angeles on Monday night on charges unsealed in Chicago, prosecutors announced Tuesday.
The indictment accused him of extorting $5,000 from an unnamed Chicago-based recording artist while he was on tour in late 2005 and early 2006.
James has described himself as the founder of FSU — a gang formed in Boston in the late 1990s, saying it would control the punk music scene.
